What we do
Wander is a regional outdoor community that documents the wandering culture. This includes everything from creating stories in the outdoors, documenting travels in the deserts and mountains as well as capturing the modern cultures of people's diverse backgrounds residing in the UAE and neighbouring countries. We are a community of people that come together on the common grounds of adventure and exploration. We do so by creating narratives and visuals that showcase our journeys and our findings.
Unbound by Wander - A road trip that creates experiences for participating teams across the country. This event takes place every December and follows a model of exploration and story telling through participants creating their own journeys.
Registration opens towards the end of the year as we move closer to the date.
Wander Forum - An unconventional event to the Wander community (as in it does not take place in the desert). We bring together the stories of travellers under one roof in the city. We do this to establish grounds of preservation and knowledge sharing on sustainable living, culture and philosophy.
This event usually takes place towards the end of the year between September and November.
Dropped Pin Event - This is where we started. The first event of its kind in the UAE, we share with you brief details of a location and expect you to show up in your own wandering ways. On our first year in 2017, we held our first dropped pin in Qudra. The frequency of these events happen at random and are shared through our mailing list (you can subscribe here).
Mapping Cities - Every summer, we launch this initiative to encourage discovery & storytelling of the towns, alleyways and landscapes of our region.
